Where does your inspiration come from? Where do you look first when it comes to redecorating a room in your home? Many people go to magazines, or Pinterest, or even look to their favorite TV shows! Well, I am no different! Here is a beautiful room I was inspired by, and now you can get it on FurnitureCrate!
Everyone has there own idea of a perfect bedroom, whether it be a mixture of dark woods and colorful textures, or a lighter look with simple patterns. Regardless of your style, everyone enjoys waking up in a beautiful bedroom.
To create that ideal bedroom, it starts with the bed. We have hundreds of beds from Classic Traditional to Coastal to Contemporary. I’ve picked out a few of my favorites to share!
It’s been almost a year since I visited my mom in Charleston, South Carolina. We spent a lot of time meandering through the historic part of the city, as well as checking out nearby attractions. It was really neat, since I’ve never lived anywhere except the Mitten.
We toured a few of the historic buildings and houses along the main streets, and we visited the original settlement of Charles Towne. I love the old architecture and furniture, both of which reflect a blend of seaside relaxation, early American style, and Gullah culture. The furniture especially had this rich, finely crafted look — as though each piece had been made as though it were the culmination of someone’s life’s work. I wanted all of it.
Sometimes when I’m missing warmer weather, I like to scroll through some of the coastal and plantation furniture on FurnitureCrate. It makes me feel like I could easily create my own colonial-style home, even in my small Michigan apartment. I can’t go to Charleston all the time, but this way, I can bring Charleston to me.

Every Morning when I get into the office, I check out my design-related blogs, articles, emails and whatever else that gets my creative juices going. That is, after I pour myself a gigantic cup of coffee!
I came across a room that sparked my interest and it inspired me to recreate it with our products on FurnitureCrate!
This photo has a lot of different components but somehow work very well together. First, you have the contemporary fabric on a traditional chair. The console table has a coastal, beach feel to it with very traditional lamps and mirror above it. To tie in the coastal theme, they’ve added a sisal rug.
Here’s what I came up with!

And, check back next week for posts about High Point Market!!
We have added several new products to Furniture Crate the last couple months and many of those have made it to the top of my Favorite’s List! The first is The Melange Lana Upholstered bed from Hooker Furniture. Not only am I still in love with the color gray, but the curves of the bed are so unique and it instantly grabbed my attention.
Next on my list is the entire new line from Stanley Furniture called Coastal Living Retreat! The colors and classic style have me obsessed. If I had to choose, the English Blue finish is my favorite. Which one is yours?
And last, Universal Furniture’s Great Rooms Collection came out with a line called Berkeley 3. I’ve always been a fan of the rustic, industrial look especially when it’s paired with linen and other light fabrics, so this collection caught my eye right away! The Brownstone finish is my favorite but I would take it all!
I’ll tell you what’s new, the Coastal Line from Stanley Furniture on Furniture Crate! And it’s fabulous!
Stanley Furniture was founded by the Stanley family over 90 years ago! They are known for their quality craftsmanship and unique furniture!

These are the cutest kids rooms I saw at market. The new Stanley Furniture showroom in High Point showcases designer looks, in addition to new furniture introductions. They were very creative when it came to kids rooms; using ordinary items and presenting them in a whole new light! Because I have two girls, I was drawn to two particularly fun rooms.. filled in large quantities of common items… pom poms, and origami birds! Yes, anyone can make this happen. I was informed that it only cost about $100 for each room. The origami birds they found through etsy, and the ombre pattern with the pom poms give it a real modern look. The sky is the limit. What this teaches us is that any kids room can be spectacular. If you have basic furnishings, which most of us do, all we need is a little ingenuity and they can look like a million bucks! Hope you enjoy!
