Favorite Friday! I was inspired by yet another beautiful photo of a room and had to create my own version with products from FurnitureCrate! Check out this cozy nook and how you can get your look right here!
Today’s post is courtesy of our sister-site, CarolinaRustica.com! I found this beautiful room and now you can get the look for yourself! Combining traditional elements like the tufted chair, and rustic pieces like the coffee table is a growing trend. Animal prints have been in and out of design for a long time, but I think this one is perfectly placed to give the room a chic look. Adding the white slip-cover sofa and shiny drum table also incorporate soft and flashy looks respectively.
It’s been almost a year since I visited my mom in Charleston, South Carolina. We spent a lot of time meandering through the historic part of the city, as well as checking out nearby attractions. It was really neat, since I’ve never lived anywhere except the Mitten.
We toured a few of the historic buildings and houses along the main streets, and we visited the original settlement of Charles Towne. I love the old architecture and furniture, both of which reflect a blend of seaside relaxation, early American style, and Gullah culture. The furniture especially had this rich, finely crafted look — as though each piece had been made as though it were the culmination of someone’s life’s work. I wanted all of it.
Sometimes when I’m missing warmer weather, I like to scroll through some of the coastal and plantation furniture on FurnitureCrate. It makes me feel like I could easily create my own colonial-style home, even in my small Michigan apartment. I can’t go to Charleston all the time, but this way, I can bring Charleston to me.
Last week, I had the pleasure of attending Furniture Market in High Point, NC. Everything from the weather to new product selection was fantastic! What stood out to me were the fabric selections from various vendors, here a few of my favorites!

Creating a Coastal / Tropical Bedroom With Our Room Designer!
Have you used our Room Designer lately? I just created a great-looking bedroom!
The Room Designer is such a helpful tool, and it helps to eliminate any doubts you might have when trying to bring a specific style into your home.
I choose the Coastal / Tropical theme. It narrowed my furniture choices to light woods, and anything made of rattan, wicker, or bamboo, which are all materials that are typically found in this type of room. Also, the bedding and lamp choices added color and helped to create the light, breezy mood I wanted!
