Favorite Friday! I was inspired by yet another beautiful photo of a room and had to create my own version with products from FurnitureCrate! Check out this cozy nook and how you can get your look right here!
I chose the Carrara Chair and Ottoman from Lexington for the clean lines and rich color. Like the photo, I stayed with a light wood console table, this one by Safavieh. The accents, Table Lamp by Currey & Company, Throw by Surya, and Pillow by Niche by Eastern Accents, have the light teal/blue color that I love!
Hanging artwork is one of my favorite parts of design. First, because it means you’re about to see the finished project. Second, artwork can completely make a room!
Artwork is up to personal interpretation; what is beautiful to you may not have an effect on someone else. And sometimes, people don’t have an opinion at all. But it’s important to find something you like, don’t give up!
Here are a few beautiful rooms that prove artwork can be essential to the design of your room.
Have you tried our Room Designer lately?
I’ve created a contemporary bedroom with gray, white, and silver accents. This room is inspired by the latest gloomy weather we’ve had on our side of the country.
Even something lacking in color can be beautiful!

Every Morning when I get into the office, I check out my design-related blogs, articles, emails and whatever else that gets my creative juices going. That is, after I pour myself a gigantic cup of coffee!
I came across a room that sparked my interest and it inspired me to recreate it with our products on FurnitureCrate!
This photo has a lot of different components but somehow work very well together. First, you have the contemporary fabric on a traditional chair. The console table has a coastal, beach feel to it with very traditional lamps and mirror above it. To tie in the coastal theme, they’ve added a sisal rug.
Here’s what I came up with!
Chairs, Table, Lamps, Mirror, Wall Art, Rug

Leather furniture is very popular because of its quality, clean look, and longevity, but it can be difficult to work around to achieve a light, airy look in your room. Of course you can use a whole bunch of white and beige accessories, but then it just becomes very bland. Here are a few solutions I’ve come up with to successfully lighten your room while still enjoying your leather furniture!
1. Brown leather is traditionally very masculine. If you compliment it with a feminine colors or fabrics, it will help to balance out the room. For example, use a soft cream or light yellow on the walls.
2. Use your space wisely. By spreading the leather pieces out or adding an upholstered chair in a lighter fabric, the room won’t look as heavy.
3. Use lots and lots of pillows! Nothing breaks up the dark and heavy look of a brown leather sofa like soft throw pillows.
One of the best parts of designing your room is picking out the colors and patterns for your accessories, but it can be overwhelming, or exciting finding the right ones for you!
I came across this website that provided a very helpful guide with names and examples of each pattern! So once you pick out your favorite patter, you can easily search for it by name!
Which pattern will you pick?
I stumbled upon this amazing suburban home design by Kristina Wolf Design, based in California. The entire home has a natural flow throughout the space. What we love is how it mixes the popular industrial design with modern features in a typical suburban home. Some of the furniture pieces are also familiar to what we have on our own site as we note below..
The kitchen has an open feel, with a casual round dining set and is open to the family room.
The formal dining room shares the same style and color palette as the rest of the home.
One of our favorite rooms is the master bedroom. That bed looks very familiar, it is the Modloft Ludlow Bed in White Leather and Wenge Finish that we also carry on our site. Just love how she designed the room with a contemporary bed, yet feels very comfortable and warm.
And last but not least, the master bath is just as stunning as the rest of the home.
I think that this home will definitely share as inspiration when I decorate my own home…
Whether you are afraid of committing to a bold paint color or you are locked into white walls in a rental, there are several ways to design around it.
First, pick large and colorful furniture for against the wall. It will help draw your eye away from the white.
In your bedroom, why not use the use a colorful or unique headboard to draw attention! Also, bold colored curtains help too!
You can also use lots of artwork or mirrors throughout your home!
If you’re in the market for a new bed, Canopy Beds are another easy solution for the bedroom!
How do you decorate with white walls?
While browsing the infamous Pinterest, I stumbled upon this room scene. It’s very sophisticated, and has a modern luxe feel to it. It’s easy to recreate that look in your home with the furniture we carry. And don’t worry, the items don’t have to exactly match.
