Creative Furniture

At work I start my day  by reading  my RSS feeds and  the Twitter stream.  This morning I noticed quite a few people tweeting about creative furniture.  So I click the link and check out the blog post.  A community website called Splashnology posted 100 creative furniture to their blog. There were some pieces I have seen before, but this was the first time  I saw a lot of the pieces.

I noticed that  some of the pieces have reinterpreations by two furniture makers featured on our site, Zuo Furniture and Alphaville Design.

This chair was reinterpreted by Zuo Furniture.

The sofa in this picture was reinterpreted by Alphaville Design.

I hope you enjoyed Splashnology’s  100 Creative Furniutre as much as I did!

US-Mattress/Furniture Crate Golf Scramble

US-Mattress/Furniture Crate Golf Scramble

On Saturday we had our first annual US-Mattress/Furniture Crate Golf Scramble. It was a HUGE success! We had a forecast of scattered thunderstorms, but it ended up being beautiful the whole time and some of us went home with a good tan (or sunburn). There were 8 teams playing in all, with some ringers showing up and setting the bar high as far as skill level is concerned. All of this couldn’t of happened without the support of some of our best suppliers: Sealy, Serta, Simmons, Berkline, Fashion Bed Group, Klaussner, Wolf, and Eco-Sleep. Winners were given great prizes, as well as everyone went home with raffle prizes and giveaways. Our company has great employees and it showed how well we work as a team! Some of the highlights were: Winning team won with 5 under par, and one of our employees had both longest drive for women and straightest drive! We can’t wait for next year!

My wife and I have nothing but praise for this product. Cheap cialis! Sixty-three percent, 74%, and 82% of the patients on 25 mg, 50 mg and 100 mg of our medications, respectively, reported an improvement in their health.
What is Reclaimed and Teak Wood?

What is Reclaimed and Teak Wood?

Over the past year we have seen an increased popularity in reclaimed wood and teak wood among furniture makers. There is one small problem with this new trend. Most consumers don’t know what teak or reclaimed wood is. The team at Furniture Crate will help you get to know what teak and reclaimed wood is.

Reclaimed wood is previously used wood that has bee re-purposed for another use, in many cases furniture and hardwood floors. Most reclaimed wood comes from old and unused building, like old barns. Reclaimed wood has become so popular in the furniture industry because of its physical characteristics. Since no one piece of reclaimed wood is the same, the furniture made out of it is very unique and one of a kind. Since reclaimed wood is repurposed wood, it is very Eco-Friendly! Using reclaimed wood prevents the cutting down of new trees to make furniture.

Teak Wood
Teak Wood comes from a tropical hardwood tree that grows in South East Asia. It was largely used in India before it became popular in America. Teak wood has a yellowish brown color and is known for its great grain & texture. Another great feature of teak wood is that it is termite and pest resistant and is extremely durable.

A lot of furniture makers have started using combination of teak and reclaimed wood. Some of our favorite reclaimed and teak furniture is made by 4 Hands and Classic Home. What are your favorite teak or reclaimed pieces? We would love to know!
